- Gerard Butler recently said he nearly ripped out Hilary Swank’s eye while filming PS I Love You.

While filming the 2007 romantic comedy PS I Love You, Gerard Butler said he cut open Hilary Swank’s head with his suspender clip.

In January, butler Drew Berrymore shared the story of how a funny striptease scene turned creepy.
According to Insider’s Jason Guerrasio, Butler was supposed to snap his suspenders so hard that the clip attached to his boxers flew off. In the final cut of the film, the clip hit him square in the face.
During one take, the clip flew off and hit Swank in her head, slashing it open.
“She needs to be taken to a hospital,” Butler said. “In three seconds everyone will be gone and I’m just sitting there in my boxers and my boots and a pair of socks and I’ve just started to cry.”
“I just scarred Hilary Swank, I almost put her eye out, I made a fool of myself for two days and that’s all I have to show for it,” he recalled.
Miles Teller found out he had kerosene in his blood after contracting hives on the set of Top Gun: Maverick.

While attending Late Night With Seth Meyers in June 2022, Teller revealed that he became nauseous after filming one of the film’s airplane scenes.
“I’m just saying, ‘I don’t feel so good,'” he said. “And I was really hot and just starting to itch like crazy. So I get off the jet covered in hives from head to toe.”
A test revealed he had flame retardant pesticides and jet fuel in his blood. When he told his co-star Tom Cruise what the blood test revealed, Cruise replied, “Yeah, I was born with it, boy.”
Jennifer Lopez said Josh Duhamel had to save her from falling off a cliff while filming Shotgun Wedding.

The cast played a Who’s Who game for BuzzFeed Celeb in January, when Lopez shared the anecdote, which she called “fucking scary.”
“So you know, like that scene where my dress got caught in the wheel? It got caught in the wheel once and I went over and looked at Josh. I was like, ‘Josh, Don’t let me go, please,'” she said. “He says, ‘I got you! You go, we go!’”
Duhamel previously told Jimmy Fallon that he also had a scary experience on the set of the film.

During a May 2021 appearance on The Tonight Show, Duhamel recalled visiting a cove in the Dominican Republic where Shotgun Wedding was filmed. He shared footage on the show of the moment he was thrown around by an unruly wave.
“The ocean was really turbulent that day and the waves crashed about 30 feet into the air,” he said. “Well, this rogue wave comes up while I’m videotaping this thing and literally almost washed me over the edge of this cliff.”
The actor said a bed of “razor-sharp coral” stopped his swing and transformed his body into “hamburgers.”
“It was definitely one of the near-death experiences of my life,” he added.
‘Bullet Train’ star Aaron Taylor-Johnson said he lost part of his hand while performing a stunt for the film.

In an interview with Variety at the film’s Los Angeles premiere in August 2022, the actor said he sustained a “war wound” while filming.
“I was on a crazy, crazy keto diet. Because I got super skinny and lean to do it, I basically had low blood sugar. We were in a fight sequence and I’m getting kicked across the room,” Taylor-Johnson said. “And that one sharp bit of the corner where there was no padding took a chunk out of my hand. And I literally passed out.”
He added that he asked to have another shot taken as soon as he woke up, but was instead taken to the hospital for stitches, where he spent the night.
“You know, when you sign on for a David Leitch film, you know you’re going to get some battle scars. Some war wounds,” Taylor-Johnson said of the Bullet Train director.
Jeremy Strong says he injured his leg doing an impromptu stunt for ‘Succession’ – but he didn’t make it into the final cut.

Strong told The New Yorker in December 2021 that he was filming the seventh episode of the HBO show’s third season when the incident happened.
The actor rehearsed a scene in which his character Kendall Roy plans his rendition of Billy Joel’s “Honesty” for his 40th birthday celebration. He said he experienced a pang of “jubilant anticipation” that prompted him to jump off a five-foot stage in Gucci shoes.
“I jumped off a stage thinking I could fly, but turns out I can’t,” the actor said.
Because his shoes weren’t made for the high-impact landing, he injured his thigh and shin during the stunt, he said. He also told the publication that he broke his foot while running in Tom Ford shoes during the first season of the series.
Blake Lively crushed his hand in a collision with Jude Law on the set of The Rhythm Section.

Lively told the hosts of “Good Morning America” in January 2020 that production had to be shut down for six months after seriously injuring her hand.
“My hand basically turned into feta cheese,” she said on the show. “I fell on Jude Law with my fake rubber knife and my hand collided with his elbow and I broke some things and dislocated some things, cut a ligament. It was pretty intense.”
Justin Theroux said he cracked his head in a scooter accident while filming The Spy Who Dumped Me.

In September 2017, Theroux said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he was injured in a scooter accident on set. He admitted he wasn’t wearing a helmet during the incident when he suddenly had to stop.
“We had this one stretch of road to keep going on and so I take turns and it’s like the last take of the day of the last day I work. And I realize when I get to the next street that doesn’t have a roadblock – there are still real cars going back and forth.
The actor said he grabbed his brakes before flying off the scooter and landing on his head, which “cracked”. He showed DeGeneres his scars and she gifted him an Ellen helmet.
Jeremy Renner broke both arms while filming a stunt for the 2018 film Tag.

Renner shared a photo of himself wearing a cast on his arms on Instagram in June 2017. When Jimmy Fallon asked him about the injuries on “The Tonight Show” the following month, the actor revealed that he had fallen from a 20-foot stack of chairs on set.
“It was a stunt. I fall off a stack of chairs about 20 feet and the chairs didn’t fall but I fell on my arms,” he said.
Although Renner said he couldn’t feel his arms, he still did the stunt again. He went to the hospital at lunchtime, where he was told his arms were broken. He told Fallon he could return to work to “throw donuts at Ed Helms.”

Wright spoke about the incident in a November 2022 cover story for Variety. She said the rig her motorcycle was mounted on cut off a central reservation and “sheared the bike off,” leading to her hospitalization. She suffered a broken shoulder and concussion, among other injuries.
“I’m still processing it,” she said of the accident, which took her four and a half months to recover from. “I’m still working through this in therapy. It was really traumatic.”
