14 Celebrities Busted for Drugs in 2023

With increasing legalization in US states, celebrity drug arrests have decreased significantly over the years. After a peak of 66 such arrests in 2011, the number is now in the tens. There were 14 celebrity drug raids in 2023.

Bryson Bryant: Reality TV star Nene Leakes' son was arrested and is charged with possession of fentanyl and misdemeanor loitering/prowling in Atlanta on July 3. He is expected to be released from prison in January.

Abdul Carter: The Penn State University linebacker was arrested and charged Aug. 8 with negligent possession of marijuana in Johnstown, PA. PPolice arrived at Carter's dorm room in response to a fire alarm set off by smoke. A preliminary hearing was held in October.

Paul Cauthen: The country singer, best known for his high tune “Cocaine Country Dancing,” was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (marijuana) and manufacturing and possessing with intent to distribute Schedules I, II and III controlled substances on May 18th on Isle of Palms, SC. The case has not yet been resolved.

The DeBarge: The R&B singer was arrested and charged Possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia and Possession of a lead stick or baton on January 8th in Burbank, California. He had numerous previous arrests From 2008 to 2009 he served 13 months in prison for drug offenses.

Lorenzo Gardner: Basketball star Mondessen HS was arrested and charged Possession of drugs with intent to distribute, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, crime and criminal mischief on August 27 in Pennsylvania. He and several friends were caught smoking weed in an abandoned house.

G Herbo: Even though the Chicago rapper was in a vehicle with more than 10 ounces of weed was not charged with marijuana during a July 8 traffic stop in the Windy City. However, he was arrested for possession of a handgun.

Gigi Hadid: The model, the most popular celebrity arrested for marijuana this year, was caught at the airport on Grand Cayman Island with an undisclosed sum and paraphernalia, for which she paid a $1,000 fine on July 10. Tony Mitchell: University of Alabama defense attorney arrested and charged Possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana on March 24 in Alabama. He led police on a high-speed chase before surrendering. In May, Mitchell pleaded guilty and was convicted sentenced to three years probation with a fine and community service.

Tammy Slaton: The 1,000-Lb Sisters reality TV star was arrested at her home in Dixon, Kentucky on August 30 and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police responded to a complaint on August 4th.

Sam Williams: The Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman was arrested and charged Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and illegal carrying of a weapon on August 20 in Frisco, TX. He had less than a gram of weed.
