If you don’t want to inadvertently infect your computer with malware, then perhaps it’s best to stop googling Billie Eilish and the weekend. According to a new study, they are the most dangerous or second most dangerous celebrities to look for online.
Surfshark used a malware detector when it searched for the most popular musicians to see how many results point to dangerous websites that aim to damage your computer or infect you with malware, as well as give hackers access to your computer system.
Based on his findings, eminem, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande round out the five most dangerous artists for Google. The remaining top 10 are country stars in turn Chris Stapelton, drake, Ed Sheeran, doja cat and Twenty-one pilots.
The study also examined Google’s most dangerous songs Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow‘s “Industry Baby” comes first. Dua Lipa came in third and fourth with “Levitating” and her Elton-John “Cold Heart” remix.
Other songs making the top 10 are doja cat‘s “Need to Know” at number six, The child LAROI and Justin’s “Stay” at seventh, Lil Nas X’s “That’s What I Want” at eighth and Olivia Rodrigo‘s “good 4 u” in tenth place.
Surfshark recommends that if you need to google those celebs or songs, be very vigilant about any link you click on.
“Hackers try to trick internet users into visiting websites or clicking on download links that contain malicious software or malware,” they warn. They add that because “more than a third of music consumers still pirate music,” hackers will “use MP3 download links to lure Internet users to malicious software.”
