Have you ever dreamed of chatting up your favorite celebrity? Cameo’s newest product, Cameo Live, allows fans and their loved ones to video chat with one of thousands of actors, athletes and other personalities.
The app, which allowed consumers to buy celebrity videos, is expanding its offering to include 10-minute live chats with a celebrity of their choice.
Cameo allows consumers to purchase custom, personal videos from a range of celebrities. The brand reports that since its launch five years ago, it has provided millions of videos — such as prom invitations, marriage proposals, gender reveals and job listings — while providing another revenue stream for thousands of celebrities. Since then, Cameo has launched several other products including Cameo Direct Messages, its foray into web3 Cameo Pass, Cameo for Business for branded offerings and physical merch through its acquisition of Represent. Last year, Cameo introduced “Cameo Calls,” a two-minute live virtual meet-and-greet product.

“Cameo Live,” the app’s latest product, extends those calls to 10 minutes and allows consumers to choose the date and time of the call, as well as opt for a one-on-one chat or a group call with up to nine friends and family members. Real Housewives icon Dorinda Medley, Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter series, Sean Astin from Stranger Things and pro wrestler Mick Foley are some of the early adopters of the product. Cameo Live beta testers have already used the product to book a pre-interview pep talk, a jam session with their favorite guitarist and a virtual birthday party, according to the brand.
“What started five years ago as an aha moment with a new digital autograph has launched us on a journey to reinvent the relationship between talent, fans and brands,” said Steven Galanis, Cameo’s co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “As the nature of celebrity continues to evolve, we’re on a mission to empower all global talent with a range of products to connect with their fans when and how they want. Cameo Live is an exciting milestone on that mission and we can’t wait to unveil more new fan experiences in the coming months.”
Parallel to the launch of Cameo Live, Cameo has launched the Cameo Live app on the Koji App Store, allowing calls to be booked, just like the Cameo website did previously. The Cameo Live app also allows talent to book calls via their link in bio.
“We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to bring fans and talent together on our platform,” said Devon Townsend, Cameo’s co-founder and chief product officer, in a statement. “With Cameo Live, we’re maintaining the personalization and fast turnaround we’re known for and making the connection a two-way street.”
