That’s really Birdie’s personality to me. Thank you everyone for checking out Birdie Mae Johnson’s adorable room.”
Despite the video’s wholesome content, some fans seem to have read a different message from The Simpsons spot and flocked to the comments to slam the singer’s face, voice and body.
“Wtf happened to her face. She can hardly speak. It’s a shame,” mused one fan.
“Something is wrong here,” added another.

Amid the backlash, the “Public Affair” singer took to social media, where she spoke candidly about how she was coping with the backlash.
“The most important thing I’ve learned in the last 5 [years] without alcohol as a safeguard against escapism is I can and will ALWAYS get through it,” Simpson wrote, in part, in a message she shared with her 6.1 million followers.
“I’m capable of pretty much anything that’s important enough for me to focus on,” she continued. “I am present. I am deeply inspired. I am determined. I am honest. I care about other people.”
