The ` has revealed the line-up for new series Celebrity Mastermind and announced that the popular quiz has been moved to a new Friday night slot at 8pm on ` One.
` presenter Clive Myrie oversees the event as the brave celebrities take their places in the impressive black chair to raise funds for the charity of their choice. This year’s nominees once again include some of Britain’s best comedians, athletes, actors and television presenters, including professional footballer Troy Deeney, singer-songwriter Andrew Roachford and ` News presenter Jane Hill.
Comedian Rosie Jones, ` Radio 1 DJ Gemma Bradley, musician Dan Gillespie Sells from band The Feeling and broadcaster Andy Goldstein are the first celebrities to be tested in their specialist subjects. These include the ` sitcom Dinner Ladies, the Iron Man films, songwriter Bernie Taupin and Martin Scorsese’s legendary gangster film Goodfellas.
Rosie Jones comments: “I grew up watching Mastermind and it was an absolute dream of mine to one day sit in that famous leather chair and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. I had fun!”
The second episode pits Mrs Brown’s Boys star Danny O’Carroll, Drag Race UK queen Cheddar Gorgeous, Coach Trip’s Brendan Sheerin and comedian Jayde Adams against their special subjects, Irish football legend Robbie Keane, Mythical Creatures of Die British Isles, Barcelona’s Sagrada Família and the supernatural cult TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Cheddar Gorgeous says: “I can’t wait to test my knowledge in the most prestigious cognitive competition in entertainment history. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited about sitting in a chair, and I really like sitting!”
Clive Myrie comments: “What I love about Celebrity Mastermind is that our celebrity contestants are up for anything. Ready to grill in the famous black chair. Helping your favorite charities is wonderful entertainment. Continue to play!”
