WEST HOLLYWOOD, California – Like Elton John on a golf cart weaving through a crowd of photographers, Versace was determined to put on a show one way or another.
After rainy forecasts forced Versace to reschedule its Fall/Winter 2023 show from Friday to Thursday in just days, the fashion house hosted an event that featured enough A-list action to even rival the Oscars (which happens to be the case). set to Sunday).
The result was a wild, chaotic ride.
About an hour behind schedule, the red carpet saw Cher, Pamela Anderson, Lilly James, Lil Nas X, Channing Tatum, Ariana DeBose, Dua Lipa, Gabrielle Union and more rushing to pose for photos, hugging and take their seats Time for the show, which takes place on the rooftop of the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.
But with no rope to separate the press from the guests, the carpet turned into a frantic ebb and flow as reporters and photographers hounded wide-eyed celebrities who practically hugged the back wall to walk down the carpet in one piece.

After Sydney Sweeney took a joy ride in a golf cart after the Tory Burch show in September, John continued the trend at Versace and drove to the show in a chauffeur with husband David Furnish.
Their vehicle could not have been going more than 2 mph, giving photographers plenty of time to swarm the cart and snap photos.
The car continued its slow journey undeterred through the crowd, taking John and Furnish to a side entrance.
At the show, John frolicked with fellow musicians Lil Nas X and Miley Cyrus – and afterwards he and Furnish rolled around in the golf cart they’d come from.

The mess on the carpet wasn’t a problem for every celebrity.
“Obviously I thrive in chaos,” former Selling Sunset star and Fashion Week darling Christine Quinn told USA TODAY on the carpet after berating Anne Hathaway for being fangirls as reporters and photographers swarmed the couple.
“I might need to check my panties. Maybe it’s wet because Anne Hathaway just walked past me,” says Quinn. “I’m never speechless, but for once I couldn’t find the words.”
Quinn also caused some chaos of her own, with a message to her former “Selling Sunset” castmates: “We don’t know them. Who? Honestly, I don’t even remember their names.”

A wise poet named Taylor Swift once said, “Draw the cat’s eye sharp enough to kill a human.”
Apparently, Versace has at least some Swifties.
In addition to their tight black dresses and sleek, professional attire, models – including runway veterans Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid – also wore statement cat-eye liners.
Although some softer pastels were present, the runway remained largely dominated by chic sunglasses, shimmering black gloves, killer high heels, sharp shoulder pads, tight pencil skirts and elegant button-down dresses. Models strutted down the runway looking like female CEOs who may or may not be time travelers too. The vibe seemed to be, in a way, “The Matrix,” but make it capitalist.
The music consisted of opera tones mixed with club beats. Adding to the atmosphere were people crowding the windows of nearby office buildings to catch a glimpse of the fashion.
Versace Afterparty gives existential aimlessness
An afterparty of sorts unfolded down the steps from the roof, giving off relaxed but aimless energy.
“Pose” star Michaela Jaé Rodriguez exclaimed: “It’s freezing!” while dragging comedian Ziwe behind her. Ivy Getty entered the venue and looked around before asking someone next to her, “What’s that?”
British ‘Emily in Paris’ heartthrob Lucien Laviscount was chatting animatedly with a photographer until a young woman approached him and asked if he could take a picture of her with the actor on her phone. The photographer obliged and snapped a few photos, but after reviewing his images, the woman decided to take her own selfie with Laviscount instead.

Models from the show hung out and sipped cocktails. Some smoked cigarettes. Some participants continued to wear sunglasses long after the sun had set.
“Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears was played, resulting in gentle nods but no dancing. Broken glass in the corner led to a three-man cleanup – one to sweep the glass into a dustpan, one to shine his cellphone flashlight on the mess, and one to point out to the first man that he missed a spot.
