Forgiveness is all the rage – and these eight celebrities can’t get enough

After retiring from her Las Vegas residence in January, 24 hours before opening night, Adele topped the list of celebrities who needed forgiveness from us, and boy did she know it. Now that the shows are back on and doing incredibly well, after much public hairdressing, Adele has done her time and smells rosier than ever.

“I’m sorry for those mistakes… I’ve fixed those mistakes and appointed a new chancellor” is a good example of why we had to move away from “sorry”. Could Liz say, “I seek your forgiveness”? Certainly not. A bit like Andrew.

Recently, footballer Jason Lee apologized for racial bullying on the comedian’s TV show Fantasy Football League in the mid-1990s. It took 25 years for him to come to this in person, as Lee pointed out, and it seems the apology was appreciated but accepted as complete … maybe not quite on this occasion. Sometimes it’s just a matter of timing.
