From suits and ties to suits. Brooklyn Peltz Beckham And Nicola Peltz-Beckham tied the knot in April 2022 – but details of the drama surrounding their wedding are still unfolding.
Eight months after the wedding, which took place at the Peltz family estate in Palm, Beach, Fla., the Last Airbender actress’ father was a billionaire investor Nelson furShe filed suit against two of her wedding planners.
According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, in December 2022, the businessman claimed to be filing those event planners Nicole Braghin And Arianna Grijalba refused to return him the $159,000 bail he had given them. The lawsuit alleges that Braghin and Grijalba recommended that the Peltz family hire another wedding planner after just nine days of work on the event.
The co-founders of Plan Design Events were one of three groups of coordinators hired throughout the wedding planning process. The lawsuit alleges that the couple overstated his abilities “in terms of his experience, expertise and ability to plan the wedding,” noting that Brooklyn and Nicolas’ celebrity status and “the expected presence of many high-profile guests” are outstanding accomplishments required by wedding planners.
Nelson also claimed in the filing that during their tenure with the Peltz family, the two women missed meetings and “made references to alcohol consumption and possible abuse” to contain their stress over the event. On one occasion, the lawsuit alleges, Braghin told Brooklyn, Nicola, and their mother: Claudia Pelzthat she needed a tequila because her “head.” [was] about to explode.”
The party planning duo — who reportedly got hired just six weeks before the nuptials — responded with a countersuit of their own in February 2023, seeking more than $50,000 in damages and accusing the Peltz family of making difficult demands at short notice and communicating poorly. In addition to Nelson, Nicola, Claudia and Wedding Designers Rishi Patel are mentioned in the file.
The countersuit claims the Peltzes were worried about Brooklyn’s mother, Victoria BeckhamFind out about hiccups in planning.
“Both Claudia and Nicola had insisted that Victoria Beckham be unaware of any internal errors in the ongoing planning of her son’s wedding, including any guest list errors,” the filing reads.
The planners also claimed that Claudia didn’t want them to share the cost of Nicola’s hair and makeup for the event with Nelson because he “would kill her and be so angry.”
A Nelson representative told the Daily Mail that the counterclaim was “riddled with inaccuracies” and that the claims had “no merit”.
Brooklyn and Nicola announced their engagement in July 2020 after less than a year of dating. The couple have previously debunked rumors of drama surrounding their union after the Bates Motel alum sparked speculation that there was tension between her and her mother-in-law. Nicola explained in her husband’s August 2022 Variety cover story that her decision not to wear a wedding dress designed by the former Spice Girl was not a point of contention.
“I wanted, and I really wanted to, and then a few months later, [Victoria] realized her atelier couldn’t do that, so I had to choose a different dress,” explained the New York native. “She didn’t say you couldn’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it.”
For his part, Brooklyn was undeterred by the ensuing rumors of a feud.
“They will always try to put people down,” he told the trolls’ outlet. “But everyone understands each other, that’s good.”

The lawsuit also alleges that the planners overdid their ability to meet the Peltz family’s expectations of the event.
“Peltz had offered them the opportunity of a lifetime – having their names associated with the marriage of two world famous celebrities, which would undoubtedly propel them forward [Plan Design Events] to the star of the wedding planning. In reality, however, it later became clear that PDE saw this as an opportunity to take advantage of Peltz by misrepresenting her experience, expertise and ability to plan the wedding, both on her website and in person,” the filing reads.
