MIA Questions Why Alex Jones “Pays for Lying” But Not “Celebrities Pushing Vaccines” appeared first on Consequence.
As if Kanye wasn’t disappointing enough, MIA is back to spew some weird anti-vaccine bullshit in the form of false equivalency. The musician took to Twitter on Wednesday to compare vaccinated celebrities to Alex Jones, who she believes both share equally harmful conspiracy theories.
“If Alex Jones is paying to lie, shouldn’t every celebrity pushing for vaccines be paying too?” asked MIA.
As a refresher, Alex Jones was ordered to pay $965 million in defamation damages after a decade of allegations that the Sandy Hook massacre never happened, that the parents of the elementary school children who were killed lied and that murdered children were actors in the crisis. People who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 have simply taken scientists at their (clinically proven) word, saying that vaccines prevent or reduce infection from a virus that has killed a million Americans and severely disabled many others. So you know they are the same.
MIA hinted that she was against vaccinations when the pandemic began, and in March 2020 told fans not to “live in fear” of the coronavirus. “If I have to choose the vaccine or the chip, I choose death,” she tweeted, before adding, “Most of the science is related to the economy. Business is in bed with banks, banks are in bed with tech, techs are in bed with us, we are in bed with Corona. Corona is in bed with science. So go on… the best thing is prevention.”
See MIA’s weird vaccine tweet below. The artist is gearing up to release a new album called MATA, and if you’re still interested in her career after that, so far she’s shared the singles “The One,” “Popular,” and “BEEP.”
