Martin Lawrence teams up with group of celebrities to play host for his charity go kart event to benefit of 125 kids in need in LA

Martin Lawrence played the role of substitute Santa Claus on behalf of a group of disadvantaged youth and children in the foster care system in Los Angeles.

The comedian and actor reportedly joined some of his celebrity colleagues for a day of fun at K1 Speed: Indoor Kart Racing in the Burbank neighborhood on Wednesday TMZ.

The annual event was part of the Martin Lawrence 2023 Celebrity Go Kart Holiday Kick-off.

In total, around 125 lucky kids with a need for speed took part in the fast-paced excitement on the track with the Bad Boys star and the other special VIP guests.

The special holiday event also included gifts for the children.

Martin Lawrence, 58, teamed up with a group of other celebrities for the special holiday charity event K1 Speed: Indoor Kart Racing in the Burbank neighborhood of Los Angeles

Other stars who donated their time to the nonprofit included stand-up comedian Jo Koy, rapper and actor Kid Cudi, rappers Polo G and MC Lyte, comedians and actors King Bach and Affion Crockett, former NFL star Willie McGinest and comedian Benji Brown.

In addition to the go-kart racing, everyone involved also got to play various arcade games, and if they were hungry, they went to get some chicken fingers at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and some candy at Randy's Donuts.

The “Big Momma's House” star is seen making his way around the track, greeting as many people as possible, shaking hands and taking selfies.

At some points you could see him talking to the children and telling them a little about his life and his background before his breakthrough in Hollywood.

In keeping with the campaign, Lawrence wore a black T-shirt with the words “Martin Lawrence 2023 Charity Event” across the front and the words “Celebrity Go Kart Holiday Kick Off.”

This was also the time when the jolly man at the event wore a red and white Santa hat most of the time.

Finally, the host of the celebration put down his microphone, put on a black helmet and jumped into one of the go-karts with the children to do a few laps on the track.

The annual event aims to lift the spirits of unhoused children and others who may be experiencing life's trials and tribulations.

The Big Momma's House star tried his best to inspire the kids at certain points of the day. To reflect his style of giving, Lawrence wore a Santa hat to match his shirt while representing his 2023 charity event. While promoting the event, Lawrence boasted that they had all opened the Martin Lawrence Celebrity Go Kart Tournament “in style” and were now ready to take this second year to a “whole new level.”

The former House Party star would also face anyone who “thinks they have what it takes” and is willing to do their best on the track.

Many of the children also wore the same black T-shirt as Lawrence, which also said “Bad Boys” on the back, likely a reference to the hit film series in which he stars alongside Will Smith.

The two returned to their buddy-cop duo alter egos: Detective Michael Eugene “Mike” Lowrey and Detective Marcus Miles Bennett as they returned to filming for the upcoming new film, “Bad Boy 4,” as yet untitled is unknown.

The “Bad Boys” star showed off his driving skills on the race track. At certain points, the joker became playful and started flashing signs with his fingers. Most of the kids were all smiles as they waited their turn and went full throttle, “Finer Things” rapper Polo G (née Taurus Tremani Bartlett), 24, was among the celebrities posing for photos with the kids posed. The event serves as a gift charity event for Martin Lawrence

Bad Boys For Life directors Adil & Bilall are back at the helm, working from a script by Chris Bremer for this second sequel.

In addition to Smith and Lawrence, the cast of the fourth part includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Ioan Gruffudd, Tasha Smith, Rhea Seehorn and Joyner Lucas.

The original Bad Boys (1995), directed by Michael Bay and written by Michael Barrie, Jim Mulholland and Doug Richardson, was a hit with fans based on box office receipts and grossed a budget of $19 million .4 million US dollars.

Stand-up comedian Jo Koy and rapper Kid Cudi proudly presented their shirts for a charity event. Actors and comedians Affion Crockett and King Bach were delighted to help the charity. King Bach and Polo G stood in front of some of the arcade games that the kids got to play. During each lap, Polo G spent a few moments with the kids as they prepared to take their turn on the track. This was the second annual Celebrity Go-Kart Holiday Kickoff. Lawrence also joined rapper MC Lyte for a round of photos during the photo op. Lawrence also gathered a lot of the children for a few photos
