The pioneers of Pakistan’s showbiz industry, coming from different branches of cinema, have dominated the list of top 50 Asian stars. These Pakistani celebrities have made major contributions to the entertainment industry and have been recognized nationally and internationally.
The list is published annually and this time Pakistani actors and singers have done their nation proud. From Fawad Khan to Arooj Aftab, there were eight stars featured alongside other South Asian artists in Britain’s EasternEye.
The list includes Fawad Khan, Sajal Aly, Atif Aslam, Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, Humayun Saeed, Hadiqa Kiana, Arooj Aftab and Riz Ahmed.
In ascending order, Fawad Khan sits second. Handsome Adonis broke records with his magnificent performance in The Legend of Maula Jatt and broke all Pakistani box office records worldwide.
After Khan, legendary singer Atif Aslam secured 13th place. Aslam also became the most-streamed Pakistani singer of 2022.
After Aslam comes actress Sajal Aly at number 16. The actress made her international debut with the English film What’s Love Got To Do With It? that propelled her to international fame.
In 17th place we have Riz Ahmed. This British-Asian actor shines like a diamond when he won an Oscar for Best Live-Action Short at the 94th Academy Awards for The Long Goodbye.
Arooj Aftab stepped in for 38th place to make the list. The New York-based singer is the first Pakistani artist to win a Grammy Award for Best Global Musical Performance while also earning a Best New Artist nomination.
At number 40 we have the talented singer Hadiqa Kiani. The Pakistani pop icon’s sell-out concerts, philanthropy and humanitarian work during Pakistan’s flash floods helped earn her a spot on the accomplished artist list.
Another great Lollywood actor who recently made his Netflix debut is Humayun Saeed, who sits at number 45. Saeed’s excellent acting skills helped him land a key role as Dr. Hasnat Khan in the popular series The Crown.
Behind Saeed in 46th place is the Pasoori duo Shae Gill and Ali Sethi.
The song, ranked as the most viral Asian song of 2022, helped the singers witness their skyrocketing fame.
