A major podcast loved by Scottish celebrities is moving to a studio in Glasgow.
The Big Light, whose investors include Ian Rankin, Val McDermid and Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, has moved into new studio and office space on Pacific Quay.
With a state-of-the-art recording room, editing suite and production office, co-founders Fiona White and Janice Forsyth will be able to grow their content and generate revenue streams.

Fiona said: “Podcasting is the fastest growing sector in digital media and with our brand new studio space in the heart of Scotland’s media district we are able to capitalize on this opportunity.
“Janice and I formed The Big Light in early 2020, so much of our production has been – by necessity – remote.
“Thanks to our incredible network of podcasters, we’ve enjoyed continued growth, and now we hope to take it even further.
“It’s fantastic to be operational in our new premises which will allow us to grow our commercial capabilities.”
Fiona also spoke of her excitement about sharing her office space with marketing agency Frame.
She added, “Sharing a space with Frame’s team of 70 professionals across PR, advertising, design, content and digital media will also help us explore new creative opportunities.”
The award-winning podcast has created content for major streaming services including Spotify, ` Sounds and the National Trust.

It also creates original podcasts for popular weekly shows such as TalkMedia with Stuart Cosgrove and Professor Eamonn O’Neill, Blethered with Sean McDonald and Talking Derry Girls.
Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, an investor in The Big Light, said he’s a “huge fan” of the growing podcast.
He added: “We believe that the opportunity to support The Big Light as it inevitably climbs from one tier to the next should not be missed.”
Co-investor and author Val McDermid added: “In these difficult times it is important to have independent voices, especially here in Scotland and particularly from the arts.
“We all need nourishment for our souls, and it is the promise of what drew me to be a part of the Great Light’s journey.”
Author of the popular Rebus novels, Sir Ian Rankin, added: “I don’t suppose John Rebus has much to do with podcasts – but who knows these days?
“But for me it is a living medium that has a lot to say. (And I should add that both John and I are longtime Janice Forsyth fanboys).
“So three cheers and bunnets thrown up for The Big Light!”
