Road Safety World Series season 2 likely to feature prominent Bollywood celebrities: Reports

A year after the inaugural season of the Road Safety World Series, which featured retired cricketers, new reports have claimed that season two will also feature prominent Bollywood celebrities. The capacity in which Bollywood celebrities will compete in the second edition of the league is not yet clear, but the inclusion of popular celebrities will certainly add another feather to the Road Safety World Series.

Earlier, SportsTiger confirmed that Lucknow will host the second edition of the T20 tournament, which will be held in September this year. The first installment of the series features big stars like wind master Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Wasim Akram, Brian Lara and others.

A total of seven teams took part, namely India Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, South Africa Legends, Australia Legends, West Indies Legends, Bangladesh Legends and England Legends. Eventually, India Legends, led by Sachin Tendulkar, emerged victorious after defeating Sri Lanka Legends in the Summit Battle.

Reports have also claimed that New Zealand Legends are the new team in the second edition as they will debut in the series. The Road Safety World Series is supported by the Department of Road Safety, Transport and Highways and the Department of Information and Technology and the Government of Youth Affairs and Sport of India.

The organizers of the series have previously claimed that the sole motive for organizing such a star-studded T20 tournament is to launch a national and international road safety initiative and change people’s attitudes. Alongside the Road Safety World Series, Legends League Cricket is another highly anticipated T20 tournament featuring retired cricketers to be held in India.

LLC co-founder and CEO, Raman Raheja, confirmed the development on Saturday, claiming that the organizers had received multiple requests from fans to organize the tournament in India.

“We have had constant requests from cricket fans and everyone has asked us to organize the tournament in India. The country has always welcomed the sport and we are confident that its second edition will be a great success,” said Raheja.
