SAG AFTRA Some members now enjoy union protection miniature merits.
The guild signed a collective agreement with Cameo’s C4B (also known as Cameo for business) Marketplace that connects celebrity users with sponsored content brands. Under the terms of the agreement, SAG-AFTRA talent can have this earnings count towards their pensions and healthcare benefits. You’ll also likely have the legal weight of SAG-AFTRA behind you when a brand partner tries to enforce something shady like non-payment.
SAG-AFTRA says there are “tens of thousands” of celebrities using C4B, “many of whom are SAG-AFTRA members who want the rights, benefits and protections that a union contract provides.”

“Similar to the influencer and podcast agreements, the C4B x SAG-AFTRA agreement is another example of how SAG-AFTRA continues to renew contracts to ensure members have the ability to cover their work and are eligible for health insurance and retirement They benefit from benefits, are in good standing with the union and have guidance and support from staff every step of the way.” Duncan Crabtree-Ireland
SAG-AFTRA’s national executive director and chief negotiator said in a statement.
“Our mission at Cameo for Business is to seamlessly connect our talents with the brands they love to create fast, powerful creative marketing content,” Co-Founder and CEO of Cameo Steven Galanis added. “The talent experience is our top priority, so we’re excited that this new SAG-AFTRA partnership will ensure existing and new talent are easily covered and contribute to their key membership benefits, while also engaging with brands on our platform.”
This contract is for Cameo’s brand partnership only, so other celebrity cameo activities – such as selling custom shoutouts directly to fans – are not covered.
According to Cameo, more than 4.5 million videos have been sold through its platform to date. No data has yet been released on the performance of C4B, which launched in 2020.
