Taylor Swift’s stadium tour has reached its next stop.
But these days she’s a spectator, not a performer. She travels the country for soccer games, not concerts. And she hopes it’s the beginning of her latest love story and not her next mistake.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ newest and most famous fan was in attendance at the team’s game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, a week after he appeared at Arrowhead Stadium to check out her rumored love interest Travis Kelce.
This time she brought some celebrity friends with her. And part of her loyal Swifite army also followed her.
Swift arrived shortly before kickoff along with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and others.
Swift and her group are reportedly sitting in a luxury suite on the 50-yard line owned by New York Giants owner John Mara.
Swift and Lively celebrated Isiah Pacheco’s 48-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that gave the Chiefs a 10-0 lead.
Kelce’s mother Donna traveled to New Jersey from the Philadelphia Eagles’ afternoon home game, where her son Jason scored a 34-31 overtime win against the Washington Commanders, to watch her other son’s game with Swift and Co.
Last week, Swift sat in a suite with Kelce’s mother Donna and cheered on Kelce’s touchdown, instantly becoming the team’s biggest celebrity fan. Sorry, Paul Rudd.
Swift’s attendance at the Chiefs’ home game against the Chicago Bears last Sunday all but confirmed the romance between her and Kelce and became the major storyline of the early NFL season.
Swift and Kelce left the stadium together in a convertible after the game.
“The slow-motion chest bumps, the high-fives with mom, it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure,” Kelce said on his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, the Philadelphia Eagles host center Jason Kelce. “Then we just ended up driving away in the getaway car.”
Her first public appearance generated speculation, headlines and profits.
Kelce’s jerseys flew off the shelves and saw a 400% increase on Sunday following Swift’s appearance at the game. The price of tickets on the secondary market for the Chiefs-Jets game rose amid rumors that Swift might make the short trip from her home in Manhattan to attend. Swift fans flooded stores in Kansas City where the 12-time Grammy winner was rumored to have stopped.
NBC even released a promo for the Sunday Night Football match between the Chiefs and Jets featuring Taylor Swift’s song “Welcome to New York.”
She was then welcomed to New York. Now we go to the next stop.
Swift’s sold-out tour doesn’t resume until October 18th. But if Swift and Kelce’s “Can-I-go-where-you-go?” phase of their relationship is still ongoing, their next stadium appearance could be next Sunday at the Chiefs game in Minnesota.
