Taylor Swift wasn’t even in the top 30 for celebrities who use private jets the most

In fact, Taylor Swift was not among the top 30 celebrities who use their private jets the most after she received backlash over an alleged 13-minute flight.

Swift recently made headlines after it was claimed she took a 13-minute flight on a private jet to cover a distance of 28 miles.

While doubts later arose about whether she was even on board, the singer-songwriter still received criticism from some over her carbon footprint.

But according to data from those who track the private jets of the rich and famous, Swift isn't among the worst offenders.

Data collected by the myclimate Carbon Tracker ranked celebrities by the amount they traveled on private jets in 2023.

The Swiss company explained on its website: “The myclimate Carbon Tracker uses public domain flight trackers and social media posts from influencers and celebrities to list flights, collect emissions data and also post critical, direct inquiries on social media.”

Daniel Aregger, marketing manager at Myclimate, explains: “We only use data that celebrities publish themselves. If someone is tagged in a picture of themselves drinking champagne in Las Vegas one day and posts from Lloret de Mar the next day, the myclimate Carbon Tracker is used.”

Although the list is a rough estimate based on the information they have access to, it makes for interesting reading.

Topping the list was American rapper Travis Scott, followed by Kim Kardashian in second place and billionaire Elon Musk in third place.

Swift's team has reportedly threatened to take legal action against college student Jack Sweeney, who runs an account on X/Twitter that tracks the flight details of famous private jets, including hers.
