Between the time they’re wowing the world with the news of a baby’s birth and informing the masses of the little one’s arrival on Earth, celebrities — like any other expectant parent — often throw on a sex reveal to show off whether their bundle of joy will be male or female. While gender identity is naturally fluid and ultimately left up to the child as they grow in their self-confidence, sex revelations are just another fun way for excited parents-to-be to learn a little more about the person who will join and change their family live forever.

The world has seen some really great celebrity sex reveals over the years, from big reveals to intimate moments and everything in between. In January 2023, Shemar Moore and Jesiree Dizon made a big breakthrough with their sex reveal by hiring a helicopter to fly over their party, emitting either pink or blue smoke to indicate whether they were welcoming a little girl or boy would.

In a video shared to his Instagram, the Diary of a Mad Black Woman star said excitedly, “It’s time today. Your boy has butterflies. This is a special day. It’s a legendary day.” The actor continued, “Today your boy, Shemar’s mother and King Moore, is going to find out if he’s going to be the father of a little girl or a little boy. It’s going down. It’s either going to be Legend, little buddy, or it’s going to be Frankie, little girl,” Moore gushed.

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian

Serena Williams, who is expecting baby #2 with husband Alexis Ohanian, announced that she was “Team Pink” when she arrived at her baby shower/sex reveal in a pink and white outfit. “I’m a little nervous because I don’t have a contingency plan in case it turns out to be a boy,” she joked in a video of the celebration.

As it turns out, her mother’s intuition was spot on! After being “trolled” by Ohanian, who ordered a yellow cake instead of a pink or blue one, Williams and the rest of the crowd witnessed the real revelation — through a group of drones lighting up the night sky and shouting “That’s it!” spelled out a girl”!

Not many people can say they’ve revealed their baby’s gender on a hugely popular daytime talk show, but Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara certainly can! The “Mother” singer and Spy Kids graduate revealed the gender of her two babies on The Kelly Clarkson Show, making the original iconic reveal a tradition.

For baby #2, the Clarkson couple and the show’s audience watched a video of Trainor and Sabara’s son Riley excitedly squeaking, “That’s a boy!” with arms raised in triumph — the April 2023 moment was beyond sweet .

Ahead of the birth of their second child, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes threw a sex reveal party in June 2022 and shared a video of the reveal on Instagram. To find out if they were welcoming another girl or their first boy, the NFL quarterback sprayed a dyed liquid from a squirt gun – and was overjoyed when it came out blue.

Ellen Degeneres rattled questions at the supermodel for answers, and before she could think too long about being asked As for what she’s got, Graham said, “A boy,” turning the response into an excited yell when she realized she’d let the cat out of the bag. She exclaimed, “I’m having a boy! I will be mom to a boy. I’m having a boy!”

Shemar Moore and Jesiree Dizon took a swanky route for their sex reveal: The couple planned to fly a helicopter overhead during a party with their loved ones, emitting either pink or blue smoke along the way to indicate their little one’s gender. After a slight delay, pink smoke rose from the helicopter to announce that Moore and Dizon were about to give birth to a baby girl.

The Criminal Minds alum has always been a proud dad of girls before he even met his daughter, and shared a short vlog of the reveal party on Instagram. The actor captioned the January 2023 video, “Miracles Happen… Here comes the BEST part of my life ❤️‍🔥”.

On a June 2020 episode of their TV show Total Bellas, Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev revealed the gender of their baby by releasing confetti from a pinata and a giant confetti popper. The Nope star was just discussing her baby’s two possible zodiac signs when she slipped through the fingers that she was welcoming a boy. “My baby will be either a Pisces or an Aries. I’m not exactly sure,” Palmer mused. “I mean, Pisces are known to be very deep; They’re emotional beings, so I just want to make sure I’m not being too direct with my little boy,” she said.

Celebrity chef Daphne Oz reimagined the classic sex reveal cake and sliced up a lasagne with colored cheese filling to announce the gender of her fourth child. The daughter of Dr. Mehmet Oz shared the news during an appearance on his show The Dish on Oz in 2019.

“I’ve never seen a gender reveal like this,” The Chew host explained, according to People. “They gave the lasagna this ridiculously cheesy flavor. So, there are either blue or pink layers of cheese in this lasagna. This is how you find out what you’re eating,” she said of the unique food-themed announcement.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi & Jionni La Valle

For their third child’s sex reveal, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jionni LaValle had their eldest hit a baseball that exploded with colored powder. “I decided Lorenzo was going to hit a baseball, and the baseball will come out powdered and be blue or pink,” the Jersey Shore graduate explained in a December 2018 Instagram video.

In the video, LaValle tosses a baseball to her son, who expertly swings at the ball and pops it with blue powder, suggesting a second son would join their family.
