WrestleMania 40 will take place this weekend at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Logan Paul set to compete in marquee matches.

On Saturday (April 6), The Rock will team with his “cousin” Roman Reigns in a tag team match against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, while on Sunday (April 7), Paul will retain his US title against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens will defend).

But WWE champion and former actor The Rock and YouTube star Paul won't be the only celebrities appearing at WWE's biggest show of the year.

Rapper Lil Wayne confirmed his participation while appearing on WWE Raw on Monday (April 1), and fellow rapper Meek Mill will reportedly open this weekend's event.

There have also been rumors that NFL stars Travis Kelce and brother Jason could appear as Philadelphia Eagles players due to their connection to the city. Jason retired in March after the Eagles won the Super Bowl in February.

Some wrestling fans have even speculated that pop star Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's girlfriend, could appear at WrestleMania.

On Friday (April 5), Smackdown Live will feature the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which has pitted soccer players against each other in the past. Could one of the Kelce brothers get in the ring? Fans will find out soon.

Additionally, WWE pulled out all the stops at WrestleMania 30, with Hulk Hogan, The Rock and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin appearing together in a segment. While there has been controversy surrounding Hogan in recent years, some fans have speculated that the wrestling legend could appear at WrestleMania 40.

Meanwhile, John Cena has expressed a desire to get involved in some capacity. It wasn't until WrestleMania 38 in 2022 that Austin faced Kevin Owens – in the icon's first match since 2003 – so the “Rattlesnake” could still appear in Philadelphia, be it in a match or simply on the microphone.

What is WrestleMania?

WrestleMania is an annual event hosted by WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). It's the biggest show of the year for the company, which in turn is the biggest in professional wrestling. Since 2020, WrestleMania has taken place as a two-night event. WWE tends to save its highest-profile matches – and in some cases its highest-profile stars – for WrestleMania.

For example, former WWE star and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will appear on Night 1 this year, in his first WWE match in eight years. His final match was a six-second victory over Erick Rowan, setting Johnson a record for the shortest match in WrestleMania history. Leading up to WrestleMania 40, The Rock was heavily involved in WWE's weekly episodic television for the first time since his rivalry with John Cena ended at WrestleMania 29 in 2013.
