18 profitable ASIC devices and the dominance of three major manufacturers revealed – Mining Bitcoin News
According to statistics from mid-May 2023, 18 different bitcoin mining devices with application specific integrated circuits (ASIC) are profitable at today’s bitcoin exchange rates. Additionally, the best bitcoin mining machines today are made by three leading ASIC manufacturers as manufacturing competition is limited these days.

The average hash rate of the Bitcoin blockchain over the last 2,016 blocks is currently around 353.9 exahash per second (EH/s). In an impressive feat this month, the network hit an unprecedented high of 491.15 EH/s on May 2, 2023 at a block height of 787,895. Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) price is steadily floating slightly below the $27,000 level. Real-time mining rig data collected by asicminervalue.com shows that 18 profitable SHA-256 ASIC miners are operational using current BTC exchange rates.

Given the current value of BTC and the rapid increase in hash rate, one might expect that in 2023, a multitude of ASIC manufacturers will be actively producing advanced mining rigs. Surprisingly, however, the landscape is dominated by just three prominent ASIC manufacturers who are solely focused on developing mining rigs for bitcoin extraction: Bitmain, Microbt, and Canaan. All of the top 18 ASIC bitcoin miners compatible with SHA-256 that are currently making profits are from these three manufacturers.

The 6 most profitable ASIC bitcoin miners on the market in 2023
The best bitcoin mining rig is the Bitmain Antminer S19 XP Hydro with a hash rate of 255 terahash per second (TH/s). Founded in 2013, Bitmain has cemented its presence in the industry over the years, producing 10 of the top 18 ASIC miners today. Taking into account current BTC exchange rates, the data shows that the S19 XP Hydro generates an estimated daily profit of approximately $9.29, factoring in electricity costs of $0.12 per kilowatt hour (kWh).

Antminer S19 XP, producing 140 TH/s, is hot on its heels, cementing its position as the second most lucrative ASIC rig. The S19 XP generates an estimated daily profit of $4.82 at the same cost of electricity. Close behind is Microbt’s Whatsminer M56S, which hits 212 TH/s and occupies the third most profitable bitcoin miner on the current market. Forecasts suggest the M56S will post a daily gain of $4.44.

Following the example, the Antminer S19k Pro produces a hashrate of 136 TH/s while the Antminer S19 Pro+ Hydro achieves 198 TH/s. It is estimated that these two miners generate a daily profit of between $3.40 and $3.70. The fifth most profitable ASIC mining rig is Canaan’s Avalon A1366, which produces 130 TH/s. At $0.12 per kWh, the Avalon A1366 has an estimated profit of $3.17 per day.
At an electricity cost of $0.12 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and considering prevailing BTC prices, a total of 18 mining rigs are proving profitable. However, if the electricity tariff drops below $0.12 per kWh, a wider range of lower terahash machines will become financially viable.
While the world average electricity tariff is around US$0.14 per kWh, there are quite a number of countries including Iran, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Cape Verde, Brazil, Central African Republic, Bhutan and Azerbaijan, among others, where electricity rates range from $0.01 to $0.05 per kWh.
