In a surprising turn of events, the calm was shattered on Sunday afternoon when a significant amount of Bitcoin was quickly withdrawn from Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States.

According to Whale Alert, a whopping 4,799 BTC worth approximately $314.13 million made its way from Coinbase to an undisclosed wallet, sparking curiosity and speculation in the crypto community.

Upon examining the on-chain data, it was discovered that this large amount had previously been part of a larger transaction that originated from one of the exchange's wallets. However, the trail resulted in these tokens being transferred to Coinbase's hot wallet, according to data from Arkham. One might suspect that this transfer was likely an internal reallocation of Bitcoin between hot wallets, organized by the exchange itself.

What is noteworthy is that this massive money movement took place against the backdrop of a drop in the price of Bitcoin. The cryptocurrency is currently trading at $66,800, recording a 10% decline from its recent all-time high reached just three days earlier.
