Several analysts predict that Bitcoin's value could rise to nearly $160,000 by 2024.
This increase is expected due to the Bitcoin halving and the growing excitement surrounding potential spot ETFs in the United States.
The Bitcoin halving will effectively reduce the availability of new BTC in the market and has historically been a precursor to significant price increases. The next halving is scheduled for April 2024, and market traders appear to be factoring in the potential impact on the cryptocurrency's value.
CryptoQuant, an on-chain analytics provider, recently told CoinDesk that Bitcoin is poised for a massive rally next year. According to their analysis, the ETF approval and the impact of the halving could push the price of the leading token to a minimum of $50,000.
The hype surrounding Bitcoin ETFs is increasing
Discussions are currently underway between several large traditional financial institutions and the SEC regarding ETFs, as many expect multiple applications to likely be approved together in January. Yesterday, another new application was filed by 7RCC Global, which aims to launch the first eco-friendly Bitcoin ETF.
7RCC Global Inc. will invest primarily in Bitcoin while investing a significant portion of its portfolio in carbon credit futures. If approved, the ETF will trade under the ticker symbol BTCK and the Gemini crypto exchange will be its custodian.
In addition, there are expectations that the US Federal Reserve could cut interest rates in 2024 in response to a decline in inflation rates. Historically, lower interest rates have led to investments in riskier assets, including technology stocks and cryptocurrencies. However, there is a note of caution: Bitcoin prices could be subject to short-term volatility as recent investors struggle with significant unrealized gains.
