Arkham Intelligence has revealed that Tesla currently holds 11,51,000 BTC worth $780 million, spread across 68 addresses, while SpaceX holds 8,29,000 BTC, worth a total of $560 million, spread across 28 wallets.
These results are supported by on-chain money flows that are consistent with both companies’ financial disclosures.

“Arkham has identified Tesla and SpaceX’s BTC holdings. We are the first to publicly identify these holdings in the chain.”
Additionally, the electric vehicle maker briefly allowed Bitcoin transactions for vehicle purchases between March 24 and May 12, 2021, as confirmed by its Tesla Intel Exchange Bounty, which included an acquisition of Tesla cars related to this extensive Group of his holdings revealed.
Tesla began its collaboration with Bitcoin with an investment of $1.5 billion in February 2021 and the acquisition of approximately 43,000 BTC. At the same time, the company announced that it was accepting Bitcoin as a payment method. However, subsequent decisions led to a reversal of this policy as Tesla reduced its holdings in the leading crypto asset.
Tesla and SpaceX's Bitcoin holdings
Tesla's public statements did not confirm any changes to its Bitcoin holdings. Even in the last earnings report from January there is no mention of the cryptocurrency. In fact, its Q4 report showed that the automaker held 9,720 Bitcoin holdings worth $387 million and neither bought nor sold the asset during the quarter.
Meanwhile, not much is known about SpaceX's Bitcoin holdings due to SpaceX's status as a private company. Nevertheless, the WSJ report revealed that the spacecraft manufacturer changed its Bitcoin investments by $373 million between 2021 and 2022, including divestment of a certain portion of assets.
