A Huge Number Of Ethereum And Bitcoin Options Contracts Are Expiring, But Will The Markets Respond This Time?
Derivatives traders have favored Ethereum options over Bitcoin options lately. As a result, around 260,500 ETH options contracts are expiring.
The number of expiring bitcoin options is a fraction at just 30,500 contracts. Additionally, there is often market volatility as options and futures expire. Crypto markets have been rallying lately and are likely facing a correction.
Bitcoin options are derivative contracts that allow traders to speculate on the price of BTC. They allow speculators to buy or sell bitcoin at a specific price, the strike price, on a specific expiry date. In addition, they are more flexible than futures with fixed expiry dates.

According to Greeks.live, Bitcoin Options has a put/call ratio of 0.99. Additionally, the maximum pain prize is $29,000 and they have a face value of $0.93 billion.
The put/call ratio is calculated by dividing the number of put (short) contracts traded by the number of call (long) contracts. A reading below 1 is bullish as more traders are buying long than short contracts. The current ratio is fairly balanced between bulls and bears.
The maximum pain price refers to the strike price with the most open contracts. Additionally, it is the price at which the asset would cause financial loss upon expiration for the greatest number of contract holders.
