Mind AI founder Paul Lee comes to town with next-gen AI in tow

There’s a new K-drama in town and it’s real and happening in real time. It’s a bit more like sci-fi, although it’s not at all like The Silent Sea or Memories of Alhambra. It’s more like SF8 or My Holo Love or Are You Human? But it’s more of an everyday reality, only it will definitely get better.
Artificial intelligence or AI is nothing new. It dates back to 1935 when British logician and computer pioneer Alan Turing invented what is known simply as the universal Turing machine, an abstract computing machine which, as Britannica describes it, “consists of unlimited memory and a scanner, moving back and forth symbol by symbol through memory, reading what it finds and writing more symbols.”
It took a while to work based on the premise that intelligence in computers could be achieved through memorization. The machines responded to commands, but had no way of storing, remembering, and processing the commands and their corresponding response.
In just a few decades, AI has grown by leaps and bounds despite a lack of government support and public hype. What would have been magical just a few years ago — like our smartphones reminding us of our flight details, or our offices noting our presence via facial recognition, or a dating app helping us find The One — now appears that way everyday.

But wait! Despite its many breakthroughs, AI is still seen as the next big thing. Its potential has yet to be fully unleashed to present us with its truly transformative gifts.
Enter Paul Lee.
A molecular and cellular biochemist by training, he holds degrees from St. Paul’s School and the University of Oxford and an MD from the School of Medicine at the Catholic University of Korea. Paul is both a scientist and an entrepreneur and advocate for technology for people. As the co-founder of Synesis One, the world’s first decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) for data yield farming and a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFT) for AI, he is also the founder and CEO of Mind AI, a relatively new artificial intelligence company focused on the take it to the next level.
Paul, co-founder of the JNP LAB in Seoul, which acts as a development center for global exponential technologies, was recently in town to establish Mind AI in the Philippines. To welcome his arrival in Manila, there was a small, informal al fresco dinner at the Manila House Private Members Club with some people, Filipinos and foreigners, in the country who are themselves making great strides into the future.

According to Paul, Mind AI is an artificial intelligence engine and ecosystem created to offer a whole new approach to AI. It is based on a core reasoning engine based on an internationally patented, completely new data structure called Canonical. A canon is formed when the AI connects nodes and links that are interchangeable to enable itself to perform inductive, deductive, and abductive reasoning. These three methods of reasoning are pretty much how the human mind understands the world – through discovery (inductive), with the guidance of universal, general, or commonly accepted facts or premises (deduction), and through logical assumptions made from available information ( abductive). ).

“When people think of artificial intelligence, they focus on the artificial part, not the intelligent part,” Paul explained when asked to give the facts about Mind AI. “Intelligence requires a thought process, and the thought process, in short, consists of three things—induction, deduction, and abduction. Well, putting those three things into an algorithm for machines to understand and think like humans was difficult, almost impossible, and it took us 13 years. Now we have a commercial product. Now companies are using it. It’s not just a laboratory experiment anymore. It’s actually out there. It’s usable. And it can be in any language, whether it’s Korean or Chinese or Tagalog… so we’re really excited to be expanding in this country.”

Basically, Mind AI will make communication between humans and machines more dialog-oriented and thus more productive. Not only is Mind AI capable of decoding context, making connections, drawing logical conclusions and generating intelligent responses, but it also learns adaptively as it is designed to get smarter with use. Partnering with Synesis One, which the company uses to gamify AI training, it is bound to learn more from information gathered across an ecosystem of data providers, data traders, and data consumers.
“This is very exciting for us because we literally just started the business a few months ago. We knew nothing about the Philippines and we needed someone local who knew the landscape and people so we could form strategic partnerships and navigate within this country,” Paul said at the start of the three-course dinner and introducing Mitchell Park , who now oversees Mind AI’s Manila operations.
AI will certainly change the world like electricity, but Mind AI is committed to three simple goals – to be an innovative, democratic and helpful brand.
