Atom Accelerator co-founder discusses its impact, projects and plans on Cosmos | CryptoTvplus

Youssef AmraniCo-founder of Atomic accelerator, gave a talk at Cosmoverse 2023 about how the project has helped expand the Cosmos ecosystem. Atom Accelerator, also known as ADA, is a community-focused fund and accelerator program dedicated to supporting excellence in public goods, open source projects and ecosystem initiatives that can bring success, security and innovation within the Cosmos network.

The goal of the accelerator is to increase the value of the ATOM token and the Cosmos Hub by funding and supporting projects that contribute to the growth and development of the Cosmos ecosystem. It acts as a grant-focused DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and seeks to create connections between investors and promising projects within the Cosmos network.

Youssef mentioned that ADA’s journey to Atom 2.0 began at a time of uncertainty and a gap within the Cosmos community. During this time, ADA emerged with the aim of bridging the gap and restoring trust among builders and developers in the Hub. Transitioning from a rent-seeking culture to a more developer-friendly approach became one of ADA’s core missions.

He highlighted an important insight: While the Cosmos Hub is prestigious, it lacks a fully coordinated, decentralized organization. ADA took the lead, fully joining the hub and becoming 100% owned.

The ADA’s most important initiatives

The co-founder described ADA’s growth over the years and said that its main focus is supporting builders. The aim is to make the hub more attractive to them by providing grants and support. These grants stimulate the ecosystem and ensure the long-term presence of the hub for developers.

In addition to helping builders, ADA seeks to reshape the nuclear economy. It follows a bottom-up approach and collaborates with key players such as BlockWorks to offer innovative solutions. ADA has also played a crucial role in providing liquidity pools on Astroport, adding significant value to the ecosystem.

Astroport is a multichain decentralized exchange protocol (DEX) integrated with Cosmos. It offers users the ability to swap various crypto assets across multiple pool types, including Curve-style stable swap. It aims to provide an intergalactic automated market maker (AMM) and DEX where users can dock, exchange and provide liquidity.

Youssef also noted that ADA is actively working with the Osmosis Grant Program and other parties to fund shared security. Their goal is to make the Cosmos Hub safer and more resilient. ADA increases Cosmos Hub’s visibility in mainstream crypto media through partnerships with BlockWorks and Messari and hosting special events.

Challenges and future goals

Although ADA has achieved notable successes, he said it has overcome some challenges. Coordination costs, opportunity costs of exploiting interesting opportunities and high demand for their services were some of the hurdles.

In the future, ADA plans to migrate to DAO to improve transparency and decentralization. It aims to introduce a full-time model for its contributors and take a more strategic approach to RFP. ADA also has exciting plans to streamline onboarding processes and increase distribution across chains.
