Bitcoin ($BTC) analyst is forecasting a massive price surge after a prolonged period of low volatility

A popular cryptocurrency analyst recently predicted that the current calm in the market could herald a whopping price surge for flagship cryptocurrency Bitcoin ($BTC), based on data from on-chain analytics firm Glassnode.

The host of the YouTube channel InvestAnswers, which currently has around 446,000 subscribers, told his audience in a recent video that Bitcoin’s current low volatility could be an opportune moment to exercise patience, noting that low volatility may not be an indicator of stagnation, but a harbinger of a potential price explosion owing to Bitcoin’s historical trends.

In his video, the moderator said that low volatility is a “sign of a bull market” and that the flagship cryptocurrency “historically has experienced massive bouts almost every time after a period of low volatility.”

According to the analyst, Bitcoin’s current volatility is the “second lowest” ever. The only time it was lower was in 2017, before the flagship cryptocurrency entered a massive bull run that saw the price surge from around $3,200 into a bearish market bottom, peaking at around $19,000 .

The analyst further supports his forecast by highlighting similar periods of calm in May 2016, April 2019, February 2013 and November 2020, all of which preceded significant increases in the Bitcoin price chart.

Notably, various analysts have been bullish on BTC over the past few weeks. The CEO of a cryptocurrency financial services firm that manages over $2 billion in assets has reportedly recently hinted that, based on historical precedent, Bitcoin’s price could break through $100,000 after the halving by 2025.

Earlier, London-based multinational banking and financial services company Standard Chartered had hinted that the flagship cryptocurrency’s price could surge to $50,000 this year and break through $120,000 by the close in 2024, which is a another major bullish price prediction for BTC.
