Tether’s new software will manage its Bitcoin (BTC) mining capacity more efficiently. At some point, parts of this software will be released on open source platforms, says Paolo Ardoino.
Tether developers are preparing new software for Bitcoin (BTC) mining, said CTO Ardoino
Tether engineers are almost ready to release new JavaScript libraries designed to send commands to Bitcoin (BTC) mining hardware, including WhatsMiner, AvalonMiner, and Antminer devices. The new software builds will be “high quality, polished and modular,” Bitfinex and Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino tweeted today, August 5, 2023.
The GM#Tether development team is almost done building sophisticated javascript libraries to control and interact with Whatsminers, Antminers and Avalon miners.
Really high quality stuff, super modular, highly polished.
I directly program the core architecture of our Moria mining…

He also emphasized that he is a direct contributor to Moria, a tool for orchestrating mining operations. The new developments are based on hole punch technology.
As Ardoino mentioned earlier, Moria allows the elements of the Bitcoin (BTC) mining ecosystem to interact with each other in a lighter, more secure, more attack-resistant, and more cost-effective way:
Each device/miner is identified by a pub/private key and can receive data (hypercores)/commands (via hyperswarms) encrypted and secure. Reduced firewall configuration complexity, higher reliability, simple cross-site replication. Feels more maintainable and modular than anything we tried today
As previously reported by U.Today, USDT issuer Tether will support ESG-compliant Bitcoin (BTC) mining in Uruguay as of May 2023.
In this area, Tether is working with local energy operators to create a sustainable “green” Bitcoin (BTC) mining ecosystem based on renewable energy sources in Latin America.
Bitcoin (BTC) mining difficulty nears second straight decline after new high
Therefore, in addition to controlling the Bitcoin (BTC) mining processes, the new technologies will also be used to monitor energy production, concludes CTO Ardoino.
As a result, Tether now uses all the top brands of Bitcoin (BTC) mining hardware (ASICs): MicroBT’s WhatsMiner, Canaan’s AvalonMiner, Bitmain’s Antminer.
Meanwhile, the Bitcoin (BTC) mining difficulty faces the second consecutive negative adjustment. After hitting a new high, it fell almost 3% on July 26, 2023.
As Bitcoin (BTC) price stagnates, the next adjustment will also see a 0.46% drop, the BTC.com tracker estimates. This is scheduled to happen on August 8th. This value is currently 52.33 T.
