Cere Network, a leading provider of Decentralized Data Cloud (DDC) platforms, today announced the launch of Vision 2.0 to keep supporters updated on its mission for a truly decentralized Web3. The release of Vision 2.0 follows the launch of Cere Network’s new website, which showcases a range of exciting technology updates along with partnerships and applications in the pipeline.

A decentralized data cloud

Vision 2.0 offers a critical look at dApps and their data infrastructure. Despite what some might think, most of today’s dApps are not decentralized, especially their data – which is usually stored on central servers. This severely limits the decentralized and serverless potential of dApps and does not solve the privacy and security issues that plague current centralized Web2 apps that host key user identities and data in compromising states.

Fred Jin, Founder and CEO of Cere said:

“DApps and Web3 in general cannot move forward to a truly open and secure future without a truly decentralized data protocol. App data is still stored on central servers. We want to change that.”

Cere’s decentralized data network and protocol together with the Cere Tools & Services Suite enable each application to efficiently provision and store data in its decentralized data cloud (DDC), individually encrypted and segmented for each consumer. This world-changing data strategy and ethos will enable every consumer to truly own their data and make it interoperable across all apps and cloud data services. DDC is ready for future use cases such as medicine, where patients can not only access all their medical records from their pocket, but also give any doctor/clinic or predictive analyzer instant access to them; or in education, where learners/parents/educators can access all of their key learning paths/insights and enable hyper-personalized learning for each learner. Cere has already pioneered a universal wallet to bridge user data assets and access rights between applications.

How (decentralized) Data-as-a-Service takes dApps to the next level

Currently, most dApps function primarily as wallets, interacting with smart contracts on blockchains, but still rely on centralized data and infrastructure. Cere DDC offers the first viable alternative to this status quo for the benefit of consumers and businesses. Cere is already working with partners and developers to read multiple applications in industries such as digital media, gaming and consumer brands.

Fred Jin added:

“Our goal is to facilitate the development of new serverless and trusted applications and the refinement of Web3 applications. Introducing DaaS to Web2 applications that already have a large user base is key to mass adoption of decentralized utilities.”

Cere Network is the first Decentralized Data Cloud (DDC) platform that supports plug-and-play integration with any EVM-compatible blockchain such as Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, Solana, Polkadot, Cosmos and others. The DDC streamlines the storage and delivery of content and data directly to user wallets and even to the owners of permitted NFTs. DDC also includes key tools like Cere Freeport, which greatly simplifies app development by allowing content to be streamed directly to NFT owners’ wallets. Adopting decentralized Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) allows data to be stored and delivered with a higher degree of decentralization, resulting in improved reliability, security, censorship resistance, and lower future costs. Applications can also become much serverless in many use cases that DDC can support, freeing developers from infrastructure costs and headaches; In other words, no need to rely on big tech like Amazon AWS, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft and Meta for essential content and data services.

Upcoming use cases will be announced shortly

Many pending integrations with partners in media, games and brands will be released soon. Here’s a quick preview:

  • Content Publishers: Promote direct content publishing for all media companies and artists by streaming music and videos directly to NFT owners. Cere’s platform enables media content to be minted and spent as collectable NFTs with its white-label marketplace and wallet and SDK with e-commerce integration. This allows platforms and artists alike to better engage audiences and monetize beyond the confines of platforms like YouTube and Patreon.
  • Game Developers: Improve user acquisition and monetization for any game by supporting direct browser-based play-to-earn implementations, where users without app stores can instantly dive into gameplay and quickly purchase achievements and assets like NFTs that uses directly , upgraded, and purchased in any game that applies the Cere Gaming SDK, as well as tradable on secondary marketplaces.
  • Consumer Brands: Membership and loyalty implementations where NFT-based products and services can bring the next generation of consumer engagement and loyalty.

Cere Network is the world’s first Decentralized Data Cloud (DDC) platform that enables serverless and trusted cloud data integration and collaboration. Cere Network is dedicated to solving Web3’s centralized data problem, led by seasoned Silicon Valley veterans and top Web3 innovators. Cere is backed by the world’s leading Web3 organizations including Binance Labs, Republic Labs and Polygon.
