Ethereum (ETH) Inflation Loses Against Bitcoin (BTC) by U.Today

U.Today – (ETH)’s recent behavior in the market and its deflation has caught the attention of many crypto traders and investors. Since December 2022, the supply of Ether has been on an upward trend. Several factors contributed to this inflation trend in the year. In particular, decreased transaction fees coupled with increased daily issuance have accelerated the increase in ETH supply.

The graphical representation provided highlights Ethereum’s deflationary trend compared to its network activity. An analysis of this chart reveals some notable insights. The burn rate is currently at 402,000 ETH per year, which suggests that a significant portion of Ether is being destroyed or “burned” during ongoing transactions and payment of fees, but that is still not enough.

Source: On the other hand, supply growth shows an increase of 0.36% over a 30-day period. Furthermore, issuance amounts to 834,000 per year, highlighting the increasing creation of new Ether in the ecosystem.

However, even if these factors push Ethereum into an inflationary stance, it is important to note that Ethereum’s net issuance is only 0.44% per year. Compared to Bitcoin’s inflation rate, Ethereum’s inflation rate is still significantly lower.

From a pricing perspective, the company has faced some challenges recently. The cryptocurrency has fallen below the $1,600 mark, raising concerns among investors and traders. With the current development, the price of Ethereum is getting closer and closer to the critical support level of $1,400, which historically played a crucial role as the point of trend reversal in March.

Currently, Ethereum price action suggests bearish pressure. While it shows some resilience around the $1,575 zone, the continuous tests of this support suggest a possible breakdown. If ETH does not maintain this stance, the path to $1,400 could be its next target.
