Strategy consultant who discovers Bitcoin ETF issuer VanEck and Tether Gabor Gurbacs has reported that Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger, famous for films about Conan The Barbarian and the “Terminator” franchise, ran into trouble at Munich airport.

As a proponent of Bitcoin, Gurbacs suggested that Bitcoin could have easily solved the problem.

Schwarzenegger is unable to make pre-tax fiat payments

According to a report from CNN, the legendary Austrian actor was detained at Munich airport earlier this week for failing to declare an expensive watch he was wearing upon his arrival in the Bavarian capital.

According to CNN, the “Terminator” and former governor of California is now facing criminal tax proceedings. A customs officer at Munich airport told CNN that Schwarzenegger violated the obligation to declare a product from a non-EU country that was imported into the European Union and should remain in the EU.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was detained at Munich airport after failing to register a guard upon arrival. He offered to cooperate and pay the taxes in advance, but the official failed to get the payment terminal operational for an hour.

Schwarzenegger was held at Munich airport for two hours and then released. He did not declare a watch from the Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet, which he planned to sell for charity at an auction in Austria.

The actor and former US politician offered to make a possible tax payment in advance. However, customs officials were unable to use a bank card machine.

Finally, Schwarzenegger was taken to a bank where he was supposed to withdraw the required amount of cash. However, the ATM limit was too low and the bank was closed. When they returned to the airport, an official had brought a new portable bank card terminal so the actor could finally pay. The amount paid by the actor was not disclosed.

“The EU is a joke,” Gabor Gurbacs added, as if to suggest that a payment in Bitcoin could have been made much faster and without Schwarzenegger going somewhere and then back to the airport.

To make a transaction in Bitcoin, all you need is a smartphone or laptop connected to the internet. Depending on the wallet or cryptocurrency exchange where the payer stores their Bitcoins, a transaction can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Nevertheless, the Bitcoin Lightning Network enables micropayments in BTC much faster.
