Core Floki team member B provides status updates and gives the Viking community some alpha on the high flying MemeFi project.

Monthly AMA by Core Floki Team Member

It’s no secret that Floki flies high, and there’s so much going on in the MemeFi project right now that it can be difficult to keep up with all the moving parts. On February 6th, Core Team Member B attended a monthly AMA to provide the latest information on the rapidly growing project.

Topics covered included condolences for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, new price feeds for $FLOKI, the Valhalla game, news from China, the potential for a Floki Layer 2 chain, fire plans and future staking .

Let us begin:

Earthquake in Turkey

B began the AMA by noting the devastating impact the recent earthquake had on Turkey, home to a significant portion of the Viking community.

“Our Turkish Vikings are an important part of this project; They are one of our largest and most passionate communities and a central part of what we do here. Seeing what they are going through right now with the devastating earthquake breaks my heart and causes me so much pain,” said B.

Chainlink, price feeds

Smart contract oracle network Chainlink is tracking increased trading volume and activity surrounding Floki. B said “I think they will likely reactivate FLOKI price feeds soon if the current volume/momentum holds.”

Additionally, B shared some news that Floki is talking to several other oracle solutions including one that is now finalizing Floki price feeds.

“Once this price feed is complete, you should see some really BIG DeFi integrations very soon, possibly as early as this month! 🤔” said B.

Valhalla

B noted the Valhalla game’s early popularity as a testament to Floki’s retail popularity and said it was the most active project on Optimism Goerli’s testnet. Additionally, B touted Valhalla as a future onboarding mechanism for mainstream gamers in Floki and blockchain gaming in general.

“The game economy is being finalized, but it will be designed to both 1) move large amounts of FLOKI tokens from circulation into the Valhalla economy and 2) be easy for people to play and have as few barriers to entry as possible,” said B.

China

For several days, the project team has been hyping a planned Feb. 7 announcement about China. B dropped some pointers about the nature of the announcement in the AMA:

“Watch out for our announcement tomorrow about our move to China, and then imagine what we can do in the other regions mentioned above when Valhalla is finally live!”

“Oh, and I think tomorrow’s announcement will give many an idea of how strategically we can be positioning Floki and our utility products (especially Valhalla!) to capture market share and mainstream users where it is it matters. It will soon be clear that we do not joke, play or sleep here at Floki HQ. We mean it!

Floki blockchain?

Rival MemeFi project Shiba Inu has been making waves in the crypto space with the development of their upcoming Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain. During the AMA, a questioner asked if the Floki team had considered building their own blockchain or Layer 2 solution for the Floki ecosystem.

B replied, “That’s a very interesting question to which I can only give one answer: no comments for now.”

$FLOKI Burns, staking

B expressed surprise that the closure of the project’s Ethereum BNB chain bridge and the consequent massive burn of $FLOKI attracted as much public attention as it did. Rather, B emphasized that for security reasons, closing the cross-chain bridge was essential to protect the project from exploits.

“So disabling the bridge and burning the tokens inside it is the ONLY MOST IMPORTANT thing we can do to protect the Floki,” said B.

Looking ahead, B said the best way to control $FLOKI supply is through transaction burns, “and there’s going to be a lot of that in the future.”

Regarding plans to stake $FLOKI, B leaked some alpha: “The Floki DAO will be voting on a PIVOTAL proposal related to this very soon.”

B said: “I think the recent vote to disable/burn the bridge and lower the transaction tax is the most important vote Floki had. I think the voting related to staking, which is going to happen very soon, is just as crucial. Be curious!”

One question that’s on everyone’s lips but hasn’t been asked during the AMA is if and when $FLOKI will be listed on the Binance Centralized Exchange.

(Remember that Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) recently warned that projects not yet listed on Binance that say they will be listed on Binance will receive an “automatic blacklist” from the CEX .)

With $FLOKI rising in value, B said, “We don’t give a damn about the token price. Nobody!”

Interestingly, the first item B mentioned on the list of things the team is focusing on is the number of $FLOKI holders. Several times in the AMA, B used the $400,000+ FLOKI holder as a key metric to evaluate project success.

Regular readers of BSC News should note that according to CZ, the most important thing Binance looks at when deciding to list a project is, yes, the number of users.

What is Floki:

Floki Inu started with a tweet from Elon Musk. When the billionaire announced he would be naming his Shiba Inu pup Floki, a flood of “Floki” dogcoins ensued. The most successful of these is Floki Inu. Floki Inu is currently the third most popular meme token on the market, behind Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. It is backed by a community of dedicated enthusiasts and a strong marketing campaign.
